"Riva"
After my Border Collie “Skye” died in 1992, I always
said that “some day” I would have another Border Collie. That day arrived
in November of 1999, with the arrival of a bouncing baby girl (yes, a
girl!) Border Collie, aptly named “Outburst Chasing Butterflies” aka
“Riva”. Riva would still be classified as a “small dog”, as she weighs in
at a whopping 35 pounds and stands 18 inches tall!
Riva has been a dream come true in the performance arenas. In the fall of
2003 Riva was shown 13 times in Novice B in AKC and UKC trials where she
earned an amazing 5 High in Trials, 12 First Places, 1 Third Place, and an
average score of 198. Riva earned her MACH in May of 2005, followed by her
Herding Championship in August of 2006. We then turned our attention back
to the obedience ring. Riva earned her UD in January of 2007, and picked
up 37 OTCH points her very next weekend out in February! She finished her
UDX in July of 2007, followed by her OTCH in October. Finishing her OTCH
made Riva a Quadruple Champion! Riva is currently showing in rally and
preferred agility while we prepare for her TDX, VST, and Tracking
Championship.
Riva is just a sweetheart to live with, and she is my very best friend.
