INTERESTING LINKS

This site contains many articles on behavior written by Suzanne Clothier.  I have heard her speak a few times and like what she has to say.
Dogwise has a wonderful collection of dog and cat book titles. Ask for the free hard copy of the catalog, and drop hints to your spouse about what you want for your next birthday, like I do.
This is a comprehensive web site about health information, containing many links to different diseases.
This is a very detailed web site with directions how to grind your dog's toenails using a dremel tool. It also has good directions on how to introduce your dog to the dremel tool so the procedure will not be too upsetting to your dog.

This site also tells about biking with your dog, using an attachment called a "Springer". If you do get one, give me feedback if you like it. And be careful.

This web site will show you how to stuff a Kong, even includes recipes. I highly recommend stuffed Kongs as a "puzzle" for dogs to solve -- great way to keep a dog busy for a while.
Nebraska Rescuers -- formed by people who rescue and foster needy dogs. Has a list of available dogs, plus other information.
Kids and Dogs -- how to keep them safe.

Specializing in preparing expectant parents for safety and success with their new babies and their dogs.

Here is a link with some good illustrations of dog body language for parents and lots of tips on child/dog safety.

This article is about a rare French breed, but it contains worthwhile advice for anyone thinking about getting a large breed dog.
Cheryl May's Dogsports

Cheryl May is a friend who lives in Kansas. Her very informative web site has a bit of everything, from agility and obedience information, to book reviews, and especially reliable pet health information. Cheryl also has links to German Shepherd information and how to cope with a recuperating dog.
Tips on how to select a good trainer.
Information on various ways of feeding your dogs, from how to pick the best kibble or canned food, to great home-made treat recipes - some really easy!
Check out the web page "Reading Canine Body Postures" to see illustrations of some dog body language.
This site has articles by Turid Rugaas, a wonderful Norwegian lady who is one of the pioneers of studying dog's efforts to communicate by body signals. I have enjoyed hearing Turid speak at conferences. She has a very gentle way with animals. Be sure to read the "Calming Signals" article.
Positively Puppy -- seven-part article. This should be required reading before anyone gets a puppy. If you already have a pup, read it anyway.
If you have ever thought about breeding a litter of puppies -- go to this link for some good information.
